Yesterday, we celebrated the incredible dedication and hard work of our teachers and staff at our End of the Year Celebration! Every achievement this year across the Scituate School Department is a direct result of their passion, perseverance, and commitment to our students. We are so proud and so grateful for all they do! We want to send a special congratulations to our Teacher of the Year, Vanessa Mezzancella, and our Support Staff of the Year, Helen Dichiaro, who continue to go above and beyond for their students and for our school community. Thank you for all that you do!

Congratulations to our Hope Kindergarteners who were honored at their Kindergarten Celebration last week for completing this special milestone! Students did a fantastic job performing songs for their families and friends.

Students at Hope were treated to a fabulous Field Day! Thank you to Mr. Cullen and our incredibly supportive parent volunteers for organizing and running such a memorable event!

This week, Hope students had fun at their Arts & STEAM night! Students were proud to show off their creative masterpieces and STEAM abilities. Students and their families were also able to stop by the book fair and purchase some neat books!

Congratulations to all of our Hope students who earned positive office referrals during the month of April!

Hope students in Grades K-2 wanted to show their support for our 3rd-5th graders during Math RICAS testing. Grades K-2 threw a glow in the dark dance party for our ROCKSTAR students taking Math RICAS.

14 students at Hope earned a pizza party for having tremendous attendance at school during Trimester 2! Congratulations to all!

Mr. Lee from the Scituate Watershed Education program visited Hope students to educate 3rd graders on keeping the Scituate Reservoir and the surrounding watershed clean. Students had the opportunity to manipulate a model to learn about how pollutants affect the environment and reservoir!

Under the guidance of Hope Art Teacher, Mrs. McCann, students in grades K-5 have been creating a beautiful mural on the wall in the K-2 hallway! Each student designed their own flower representing something about them, used transfer paper to copy their design onto the wall, and then added color and detail to their design on the wall!

We are excited to share that Conor, a kindergarten student from Hope, had the lucky Feinstein Golden Ticket number pulled recently! As a winner of the Golden Ticket, Conor has won a $5,000 grant for Hope Elementary and has chosen to donate a $500 grant to "A Shedding Chance Reptile Rescue". He chose this organization because "I want to be a lizard vet when I grow up. I need to help those sick lizards.” Congratulations, Conor!

Students in Grades K-2 at Hope have been loving the after-school coding club!

In order to kick off RICAS testing, teachers and students in Grades K-2 at Hope made banners and lined the hallways to cheer on students in Grades 3-5 who were about to take RICAS testing. We are so proud of all of their hard work, and everyone wanted to show their support through this special celebration!

Hope students have done an incredible job earning Husky Bucks for being respectful, responsible, and ready to learn this month! Students have had the opportunity to cash in their Husky Bucks at their school store (Thank you to our parent volunteers. The store couldn't run without you!). They also had the opportunity to save up and buy a special admission ticket to an event with Xen's Critters. Students and staff alike loved snuggling and reading to the animals!

Do you have feedback for the Scituate School Department? We want to hear it!
This survey will take between 15-20 minutes to complete. When filling out this survey, you will ONLY fill out the parts that apply to you. For example, if you indicate that you have children at Clayville and at the middle school, you will only fill out those sections (and will not be shown the sections for the other schools).

Attention Scituate families! We are conducting a survey to find out from our families how you perceive the schools that your children attend.
In some ways, this overlaps with the Survey Works questionnaire, but it goes into more detail because, as a school department, we want to know from you what we're doing well and what we could do better!
This survey is anonymous and specifically designed for parents and guardians with students in our schools. The survey will be open for approximately two weeks and will close on Monday, April 21, 2025.
We hope you can take the time to give us this important feedback!

Hope students in Mrs. Hanson's second grade class loved completing a science experiment to learn about erosions and landslides!

Alongside the Scituate Sustainability Committee, Hope Elementary has implemented a new food waste reduction program! Cafeteria rangers (our Grade 4 and 5 student council representatives) are assisting students with composting and recycling, in order to reduce waste heading to our landfills! Students were also lucky to learn more information to help us compost and recycle through a presentation from the RIRRC.
